Former Liverpool star Sadio Mane is set to apologize to his Bayern Munich team-mates after apparently hitting Leroy Sane following Tuesday’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City.
It was reported that the 31-year-old was involved in an argument on the pitch with the former City striker, leading to a “heavy argument” between the two after the game.
He was smiling as he arrived at Bayern’s training ground on Säbener Strasse on Thursday, according to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg. The bosses of the Bundesliga champions spoke yesterday of “several” consequences, it is said.
Mane’s first season in Germany didn’t go to plan after leaving Anfield amid intense scrutiny following his return from injury. And reports on Wednesday suggest he remains stable after a 21-minute appearance at the Etihad Stadium.
A fine, suspension and even a detachment from the squad have been proposed, but the consequences of his actions following the Champions League first leg defeat remain to be seen. Thomas Tuchel’s side are set to start training at 12:00 GMT and the ex-Red is expected to acknowledge his actions towards the squad.

After voicing his complaints about the way the former City winger spoke to him, the pair had to be “split” after Mane allegedly punched the German on the lip. A BILD report said this strike “left marks on Sane’s face”, adding that Bayern declined to comment on the matter. A separate Sky Deutschland story on Sky Sports explained that Sane’s lip was bleeding after the altercation and the couple left Munich airport separately when they got home.

Sky Sports Germany has reported that a fine or suspension could be one of the penalties following Mane’s actions against Manchester this week.

Mane’s time at Bayern is believed to come to an end at the end of the season. He added: “In Thomas Tuchel, they brought in a coach under whom that shouldn’t happen. I don’t believe in Sadio Mane’s future at Bayern beyond the summer.”
