Liverpool have predicted the squad against Tottenham if Darwin Núñez and two other players return

Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur prediction: Jürgen Klopp will be tempted to make several changes to his starting lineup ahead of the Premier League match at Anfield.

Liverpool’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League are slim, but they are still alive in the match against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds meet on Wednesday following a 2-1 win over West Ham. Liverpool had to work hard for the three points in London but managed a third successive victory through goals from Cody Gakpo and Joël Matip.

Tottenham are another team battling Liverpool for European football, adding further interest to Sunday’s match at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp has a few decisions to make when picking his starting XI for the game.

One player he can rely on is Ibrahima Konaté after the defender missed out on winning against West Ham as a precaution. Klopp confirmed in his press conference on Friday that Konate is available again, meaning he could join the squad in place of Matip, who scored Wednesday’s winner.

You would expect Klopp to play with the same defense that started against West Ham, except for Konaté replacing Matip. Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson are all expected to keep their places. Midfield asks a different question, but you would think Fabinho would start in the defensive role. Curtis Jones has made a huge impression in recent games and would find it quite difficult if he dropped to the bench.

Jordan Henderson started against West Ham, but the game looked much more in Liverpool’s hands when Thiago Alcântara came on. As a result, the Spaniard can get his first start since the start on Sunday
The striker could see at least one change, but it would be a big shock if Mohamed Salah were involved. Furthermore, after scoring on Wednesday, Gakpo could very well make a fresh start, although Luis Díaz is back and starting to show more signs of full fitness. Diogo Jota had a minor back problem after colliding in the win over West Ham but it’s not believed to be serious. With the Portugal international now in 12 straight games, it might be time to give Darwin Núñez a start.

Núñez hasn’t featured in any of Liverpool’s last four games, but he caused problems in the second leg against Tottenham earlier in the season. Sunday could be the perfect time to bring the forward back into the starting XI.
