Sadio Mane transfer twist claimed ex-Liverpool Jude Bellingham will join this week
Liverpool’s EURO rivals roundup: An update has been released on Sadio Mane’s situation at Bayern Munich, while Jude Bellingham is set to complete a transfer this week.
The Premier League wasn’t the only top flight to end this weekend: Liverpool finished fifth, Everton avoided relegation and Borussia Dortmund handed the Bundesliga title to Bayern Munich in spectacular fashion.
La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1 all end next weekend, with Barcelona, Napoli and PSG already confirmed as champions, so there won’t be as much drama as there was. in Germany this weekend.
When all the leagues are over, there will be internationals in the form of EURO qualifiers and friendlies, but the transfer market will be in full swing.
Officially open next month, clubs are already working hard to secure deals and Liverpool are no exception, with Alexis Mac Allister among the top targets for reinforcements. Here’s the Liverpool.com version of some of today’s top European football news, including updates on Jude Bellingham and Sadio Mane, both of which are of interest to Reds fans for different reasons.
The Jude Bellingham affair is near
After missing out on the Bundesliga title in excruciating circumstances without being fit enough to take the field and make a difference for Borussia Dortmund, former Liverpool target Jude Bellingham will soon join Real Madrid.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the deal will close this week, with Bellingham moving for an initial fee of just $107m (£87m/€100m) with a contract running until 2029.
Liverpool.com says: Bellingham now looks like a distant memory for Liverpool as the Reds have turned their attention to other goals. The former Birmingham City man would have been the perfect addition at Anfield, but as long as Jürgen Klopp gets some more goals that can have an immediate impact, Liverpool can still be very competitive next season. There is still a lot of work to be done to make sure of that, and several players will be signed. It wouldn’t be a surprise if at least one of those deals were completed fairly quickly now that the Premier League season is over.

The rebound of the transfer of Sadio Mané
According to Fabrizio Romano, ex-Liverpool striker Sadio Mané has no intention of leaving Bayern Munich this summer in a twist in a transfer story – although Sky Germany revealed as much a year after leaving Anfield for the… for sale. Mané ‘hopes to have a chance to stay and win titles next season’, reports Romano, adding that coach ‘Thomas Tuchel has also been informed of this’.
However, former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has hinted that Tuchel could leave Bayern Munich a few months after replacing Julian Nagelsmann as things are clearly not going well at the Bundesliga champions despite having already won their 11th league title in a row. Bayern Munich sacked their sporting director and chief executive this weekend, and Hamann told German TV (via the Daily Mail): “When you treat people like this, you have to ask yourself: do you want to work for this club? I don’t I think I can rule out the possibility that Tuchel will also leave soon, but he will leave of his own free will.
Liverpool.com says: Whether or not Tuchel stays, it makes sense that Mane would want to stay. He was only in Germany for a year and was injured most of that time. Doing at least one more season makes sense and Mane would have to take a step back in club size if he leaves now. He should at least win another Bundesliga title by staying in place.
