Bayern Munich call Sadio Mane brutally as Man Utd are expected to offer a transfer option for Liverpool
Liverpool’s rivals round-up: Sadio Mane could move just a year after leaving the Reds, while Aston Villa could have their eye on a player rejected by Manchester United.
Liverpool have set the benchmark for their rivals this summer, having already completed their first signing at what appears to be a bargain price.
Alexis Mac Allister becomes the club’s first new signing as Jürgen Klopp begins his rebuilding after a disappointing season, and according to Fabrizio Romano, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds may already have secured the figure of just $44m. summer deal.
But the work is far from finished and many more will be added in the coming weeks as Klopp and new sporting director Jörg Schmadtke get to work refreshing the squad.
And while fans will no doubt be watching with interest throughout the summer, they’ll also be keeping tabs on what’s going on elsewhere. Recent reports suggest a former Liverpool favorite could make another move, while Aston Villa could look to sign a player missed by Manchester United.
Here, Liverpool.com takes a look at other top teams in the Premier League and across Europe for an overview of what’s going on at other clubs.
Sadio Mané on Bayern Munich’s transfer list
According to reports in Germany, Sadio Mané has been added to the list of seven players transferred by FC Bayern Munich this summer.
Mane has been in Munich for less than a year, having left Liverpool last summer, but there has already been speculation that he could leave the Allianz Arena. The Senegal international failed to deliver peak performances during his time at Anfield, which he did in the dressing room with team-mate Leroy Sané and he was suspended by the club earlier this year. According to German Bild, Thomas Tuchel has now placed Mane on a list of players available for transfer. The list also includes Sané and Serge Gnabry, as well as Bouna Sarr, Alexander Nübel, Marcel Sabitzer and Benjamin Pavard.
Liverpool.com says: Things certainly don’t look going well for Mane in Germany. A move to Bayern should suit him perfectly and ensure success, but while the club have claimed another Bundesliga title, it certainly doesn’t look like a happy place at the moment.

Mane proves once again that players should seriously think twice before leaving Liverpool. How many times have we seen players choose to leave Anfield and fight elsewhere over the years? It’s almost as if Jurgen Klopp was one of the best managers of all time…
Aston Villa make an offer to Pau Torres
Aston Villa have reportedly made a bid for Pau Torres a year after Manchester United missed out on the chance to sign the Villarreal defender.
Torres has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League in recent years and it looked like he could have moved closer to a move to Old Trafford last year, only for Erik ten Hag to veto the deal existing and turns to Lisandro Martínez. instead, according to The Mirror
Spanish radio station Cadena Ser have now suggested that Villa have made a formal offer for Torres in a bid to reunite him with former Villarreal manager Unai Emery. Juventus are also said to be interested as Villarreal are set to sell some of their star players after the club were dropped from Champions League football next season.
Liverpool.com says: Aston Villa appear to be quietly assembling a very strong squad and with Emery at the helm there is a real possibility they could pose a threat next season, particularly in the race for the European places. Torres would be another good signing showing real intentions for next season.
Manchester United won’t exactly regret their decision to drop Torres as Martínez was impressed after a shaky start, but given the opportunities beyond the Argentine and Raphael Varane, they would probably have preferred to sign both. With Liverpool needing to strengthen their defense this summer, perhaps they should throw their hat in the ring for Torres, a talented young defender.
