Erik ten Hag reportedly made Mason Greenwood’s team decision for Manchester United
Erik ten Hag is reportedly ready to welcome Mason Greenwood to his Manchester United team.
Mason Greenwood was suspended from Manchester United in January 2022 after being accused of domestic violence, rape and death threats in videos that circulated on social media.
He has not played for the club since being placed under house arrest. However, all charges against him were dropped earlier this year.
According to The Sun, Erik ten Hag should be happy to see the forward playing for the club again.
Although the club themselves haven’t made a final decision on his future – which is an important point – it is said that Ten Hag would be happy to have the striker back in their squad. The report went on to say that the bulk of the United squad would welcome Greenwood back into the dressing room should the club decide to lift him from his suspension.
United executives handling sponsorship and other commercial deals remain concerned about the impact Greenwood’s return could have on the club.
“Mason was delighted to hear from the manager and most of his teammates would welcome him back,” a source told The Sun.
“He strongly believes he is an innocent man and is very frustrated that he cannot play. He understands the club had to investigate but feels his career is fading. “He and his team have made it clear to United that they now want to know what’s going on. They basically said ‘fire him or support him’. If they want to reinstate him, do it. If they want to sell him, tell him.
“And if they want to loan him out, tell them so his team can find the best club for him.”
