City owner Sheikh Mansour watched this weekend’s Champions League final win against Inter Milan – only his second ever game against City – to see his club become European champions for the first time. By reaching the treble, City achieved what only Manchester United had done before in England, winning the league, FA Cup and European Cup in the same season.
In the days following the Istanbul final, Pep Guardiola was in Manchester on Monday to enjoy the club’s treble parade through a drenched city centre, and has since flown to Abu Dhabi for an audience with Sheikh Mansour, along with the three trophies . Alongside Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, CEO Ferran Soriano and Sporting Director Txiki Begiristain, Sheikh Mansour discussed City’s achievements in the 2022/23 season, their plans for next season and how to “strengthen “City’s position globally.

Guardiola reportedly said City’s titles were an “answer to Sheikh Mansour’s favour” and stressed he would continue to insist that City win trophies and championships.
