Mason Mount is about to move to Man Utd
Manchester United had a slow start last season, having arrived late with signings, and appear keen to avoid making the same mistake this time around.

Man Utd are closing a deal for Mason Mount, with the fee for the England international expected to be £60m. That’s still less than the £70m initially desired by Chelsea, where Mount is under contract until 2024.
The 24-year-old forward is one of the team’s first players to retire this summer. N’Golo Kanté has already moved, while players such as Mateo Kovacic and Hakim Ziyech are both close to leaving at the time of writing.
Mount were in talks with Chelsea over a new deal. However, no progress has been made and the Blues are ready to let the product of the academy drift to new pastures.
Fred fixed price
According to The Telegraph, Man Utd are willing to accept offers of around £20m for midfielder Fred. The Brazil international cost more than £50m when he joined from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018, but his current contract is for just one year.
Fulham have reportedly expressed interest in the United man, although he is yet to make an offer. Last summer Marco Silva’s side replaced Andreas Pereira, who had a solid debut season in West London. Fred played in 35 of United’s 38 Premier League games last season, scoring twice. However, only 12 of those 35 appearances were starters.

Ten Hag gave advice to attackers
Former Man Utd striker Dwight Yorke believes Erik ten Hag needs to bring a quick striker to United’s ranks. The Red Devils are associated with a range of attacking talent with varying profiles, including Harry Kane, Rasmus Hojlund and Victor Osimhen. “United want someone with some pace, threatening defenders and players who can score goals,” Yorke told Mirror Football on behalf of MatchCenter. “It’s a struggling area, they don’t come in 9th place.” He leaned too much towards [Erling] Haaland in that regard.
