Liverpool flop linked to immediate return as Jurgen Klopp made £51m ‘demand’
Liverpool have already completed their first signing of the summer transfer window
It’s no secret Liverpool are in need of reinforcements this summer after a below-par campaign ended in a fifth-place finish.
Alexis Mac Allister has previously joined Anfield from Brighton, although Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring more players to the club before pre-season preparations begin in early July. It remains to be seen who will be recruited by the club, with Liverpool linked with a slew of names.
Midfield is a priority position for the Reds following the retirements of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Naby Keita this summer, increasing the need for additions to the squad.
Klopp will be fully aware of the weakness of the weakness that needs to be addressed and will be happy to strengthen the range of options available ahead of the 2023/24 season. Below is an overview of the latest rumors regarding the Reds
Liverpool are keen to finalize a deal to sign Juventus winger Federico Chiesa.
The Euro 2020 winner made a total of 33 appearances in all competitions last season after returning from a lengthy anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The Premier League is seen as an ‘interesting destination’ for the Italian star and Liverpool are hoping to ‘convince’ Chiesa to move to Anfield. That’s according to El Nacional, which adds that Jurgen Klopp has asked the Reds board to pay €60m (£51.3m) to secure a deal.
Arthur linked to return to Premier League
According to a latest report, Arthur Melo is attracting interest from two Premier League sides. The Brazilian only made one appearance for Liverpool during his loan season at Anfield and is now back at parent club Juventus.
However, an Italian outlet has hinted that Aston Villa and Newcastle are interested in Arthur given his potential return to English football’s top flight. Juventus would be ‘satisfied’ if they loan the player out for the second season in a row.
The 26-year-old has two more years at Juventus which expire in the summer of 2025.
Ward-Prowse and Climb off the table
Mason Mount is no longer seen as a target for Liverpool. The Reds were heavily linked with a move for the Chelsea midfielder last month, although Manchester United now appear to be in pole position to secure a deal.
