Exclusive New Azurite Sea Card Reveal!
After another whirlwind of a reveal season, we’re nearing the final few cards of Azurite Sea. Today, we’re excited to reveal a brand new card on Lorcana Player for the very first time!
The new set arrives at your friendly local game store on Friday, November 15th then two weeks later at larger stores. Illumineers will set sail and follow an ancient map to unknown lands – what will our heroes find there, and who is this mysterious owl?
We’ve been treated to 30 new Pirates, new Robot cards, and the first appearance of the Big Hero 6 and Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers franchises. We’ve also seen a new art style for the Enchanted this set with Basil – Disguised Detective.
The European Championship is coming up at Disneyland, Paris on the 6th December and will mark the first competitive event to use Azurite Sea. It’s going to be exciting to see how the new set shifts the meta after Emerald Steel took top place in the last Challenge event in Seattle yesterday.

We want to give a massive thanks to the Ravensburger team for the opportunity. It’s been so fun to be part of the community all the way back to the original announcement of the game – shout out to everyone we’ve traded theories with!
Without further ado, here’s Sour Bill – Surly Henchman from Wreck-It Ralph.
Feel free to share the image but please link to us as the source!
He doesn’t seem too happy about making his first appearance in Disney Lorcana. With art from Mike Mu and Livio Cacciatore, Bill warns off heroes attempting to navigate the sea wall maze that has already claimed many ships.
Is he any good as a card? At 3 ink, 3 strength, 3 willpower, 2 Lore and being inkable he’s statted pretty well. Eleven other characters have the same stats and all have abilities – and two or three see regular use.
His UNPALATABLE ability to reduce chosen opposing character’s strength by 2 this turn when played is decent. Finding a place to fit a 3-cost character and what deck to use it in is trickier. He’s basically a cheaper Maid Marian – Delightful Dreamer or a more expensive Minnie Mouse – Quick-Thinking Inventor.
In Ruby Sapphire decks the “Sisu on Ice” deck archetype involves using Ice Block and Sisu – Daring Visitor and Empowered Sibling to effectively banish a wide range of characters. In that ink combo, you’ll also be using Hiram for card draw when Ice Block isn’t useful anymore.
Ice Block
Sisu – Daring Visitor
Sisu – Empowered Sibling
Bill could fit in here, but would likely come out later in the game where he combos well with many of the Ruby banish options. Where he might work better is early game when you have a Tipo or Chicha out but can’t effectively deal with aggro decks without losing them.
Playing him turn at three ink could mean you get to take out a smaller character while keeping yours. The problem is that at 3 ink he’s taking the slot of Fishbone Quill, Brawl, and Sisu – Daring Visitor.
Brawl
Hiram Flaversham – Toymaker
Madame Medusa – The Boss
For survivability at 2 strength he can be brawled, but with the ability only working on play he’s not a great target. Cards that might bounce him like Kit Cloudkicker – Tough Guy also leave you to re-use that ability.
In other ink combos he could be interesting. With Emerald, he could be used with The Muses, Kit, and Under the Sea to take down pretty decent characters.
The Muses – Proclaimers of Heroes
Kit Cloudkicker – Tough Guy
Under The Sea
With Amethyst “Blurple” ramp/control decks he can be bounced with the Mim cards as a backup or alternative to Merlin – Crab.
Madam Mim – Snake
Merlin – Crab
