Breaking: Deal Done’ Yankees has Officially Confirmed Signing Roki Sasaki Multi-million Deal to Replace….

The New York Yankees have swiftly adjusted after losing Juan Soto to a historic $765 million, 15-year contract with the Mets, pivoting to significant roster moves to strengthen their team. General Manager Brian Cashman has brought in notable players, including former NL MVP Cody Bellinger from the Chicago Cubs, left-hander Max Fried on an eight-year, $218 million contract, and closer Devin Williams from the Milwaukee Brewers.

Cashman expressed excitement about acquiring Bellinger, referencing a personal connection: “I acquired his dad back in the day. Now I acquired his son.” Bellinger’s father, Clay, played for the Yankees from 1999 to 2001, winning two World Series titles. Cody, now 29, is guaranteed $52.5 million over two years, with a $27.5 million salary in 2025 and a $25 million player option for 2026. The Cubs are also providing the Yankees with $5 million in financial assistance, depending on whether the option is exercised.

Bellinger, a versatile left-handed hitter, batted .266 with 18 home runs and 78 RBIs over 130 games in 2024, despite missing time due to a rib injury. Yankees manager Aaron Boone praised Bellinger’s athleticism and flexibility, recalling their conversation where Bellinger assured him he’s willing to play anywhere on the field, from center field to first base.

Additionally, the Yankees have been invited to meet with Japanese pitching phenom Roki Sasaki, who could sign with MLB teams in January. Cashman acknowledged Sasaki’s immense talent, stating, “He has a chance to be one of the world’s great pitchers. It would be nice to have Yankee Stadium be his home.”

The Yankees’ bullpen also received an upgrade with the acquisition of Williams, who is set to take over the closer role. Boone assured current reliever Luke Weaver of a continued prominent role in the bullpen, while pitching coach Matt Blake revealed that Jonathan Loáisiga could return in late April or May after Tommy John surgery.

Cashman’s latest moves underscore the Yankees’ commitment to building a competitive roster, even after missing out on Soto. Boone remains optimistic, stating, “I feel like the winter’s been a good one so far.”
