Red Sox Lands 5 star Outfielder After Missing Out on Soto
We bring to you the latest updates
The Boston Red Sox are clearly focused on strengthening their outfield offense.
Their pursuit of Juan Soto was aggressive, but ultimately, Soto signed a record-breaking $765 million contract with the New York Mets. Reports indicated that Boston’s offer reached approximately $700 million, which would have shattered the franchise’s record for the largest contract ever.
With Soto no longer an option, the Red Sox need to act swiftly to secure other offensive powerhouses. Boston isn’t alone in seeking a middle-of-the-lineup slugger, as multiple teams are looking to add more firepower.
MLB Network’s Jon Morosi reported that both the Dodgers and the Red Sox are strong contenders for Hernández’s services. Morosi shared:
“Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reported, and I agree, that the two teams to watch for Teoscar Hernández are the Dodgers and the Red Sox. Teoscar was a perfect fit for the Dodgers’ lineup throughout their championship season… However, the Red Sox are also a compelling option. He has experience in the American League East, and his numbers at Fenway Park are excellent. Whether a deal is finalized soon or later this week, these two teams are well-positioned to sign him.”
Adding Hernández would provide Boston with a much-needed right-handed power hitter. While securing him wouldn’t be a complete solution, it would be a significant step forward for the Red Sox’s offense.
