Ohio State Brings Back the “Rose Stripe” on Helmets for Clash with Oregon in The Rose Bowl Game
Ohio State is bringing back a cool touch for their heavily anticipated matchup with No. 1 Oregon in the 111th Rose Bowl Game, as the Buckeyes will once again wear the “Rose Stripe” on their helmets in Pasadena.
Ohio State first used the vertically running scarlet rose pattern on the team’s center helmet stripe three years ago in a wild Rose Bowl Game where the Buckeyes rallied to knock off No. 11 Utah, 48-45. That instant classic saw C.J. Stroud set a school passing record with 573 on the day and Jaxon Smith-Njigba shatter a school record with 347 receiving yards – the most ein any bowl game ever.
As for jerseys, the Buckeyes will wear their traditional road whites for the College Football Playoff quarterfinal game, which kicks off at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 1st.
