Red Sox superstar was assured of keeping his position in the field as part of his contract extension

During his time in Boston, Devers was quick to become the jewel of the Sox offense. In his career, he’s slashed .279/.345/.511/.856, with 255 doubles, 200 homers, and 638 RBI.
However, his defense is less than adequate. Arguably one of the most important positions in the field, Devers has not been a great defender at third. In his career, he has 141 errors at third. To his credit, his past season was his best at third, but he still had 12 errors at the hot corner.
Hopefully, Devers has found a cure for his defensive maladies, and is able to have a MVP year defensively as well as offensively.
