A fixture of North Main Street has been serving hot dogs and ice cream for four decades, and this week locals are invited to help celebrate the anniversary.

Kaylyn Doss spoke to Scope News about what Doss’ Grill has meant to her family.

“Seeing so much of the community come in and out of Doss’ and just being able to learn from my parents and learn from the community, just seeing the support that they have given us, has been great.”

Crediting her father, Ellis Doss, for his hard work, she added: “My dad has put his whole life into this business, so seeing what it has taken to sacrifice for providing for our family, I can’t even put it into words. He’s the strongest man I know.”

Customers can help celebrate the anniversary with daily dine-in deals this week.

“I just want to thank the community for supporting us,” Doss added. “I thank all of our past and present staff. If it wasn’t for the community and people that have pitched in hands here to help us out, we wouldn’t be where we are today. It’s just an ode to them.”

Doss’ Old Fashion Ice Cream and Grill is located at 406 North Main Street.
