KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Volunteers received a major boost on Tuesday as three-star EDGE rusher C.J. Edwards announced his commitment to the program, becoming the latest addition to a strong start for the Vols’ 2026 recruiting class.

Edwards, a highly regarded defensive prospect, marks the seventh overall commitment in Tennessee’s 2026 class. Known for his explosiveness off the edge and relentless motor, the 6-foot-4 standout has drawn attention from several major programs across the Southeast. Ultimately, Tennessee’s coaching staff and vision for the future sealed the deal.

“I see something special building in Knoxville,” Edwards said following his commitment. “Coach [Josh] Heupel and the staff made me feel like family from the start.”

With Edwards on board, Tennessee continues to build momentum in its defensive recruiting under defensive coordinator Tim Banks. His commitment brings balance to a class that already includes offensive firepower and showcases the staff’s emphasis on developing future impact players across the board.
