Knoxville, TN — In a momentous occasion for the University of Tennessee football program, former Vols safety Eric Berry has officially been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. The announcement marks a historic milestone, as Berry becomes the 26th Tennessee Volunteer to receive one of the sport’s most prestigious honors.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest defensive players in college football history, Berry starred at Tennessee from 2007 to 2009. During his collegiate career, he earned numerous accolades, including two unanimous All-American selections and the Jim Thorpe Award in 2009, recognizing him as the nation’s top defensive back.
Berry’s impact extended well beyond the stat sheet, as he became a fan favorite known for his leadership, relentless work ethic, and electrifying play on the field. He finished his Tennessee career with 245 tackles and 14 interceptions, including a school-record 494 interception return yards.
