New York Mets Acquire A Closer

 

The New York Mets acquired a reliever this evening. The team they are battling with for the National League East in the Philadelphia Phillies addressed their bullpen, and the Mets followed suit by trading for Ryan Helsley from the St. Louis Cardinals. The Mets are trading shortstop Jesus Baez, along with righties Nate Dohm, and Frank Elissalt to the Cardinals. The Mets made a trade earlier today acquiring Tyler Rogers from the San Francisco Giants. Helsley this season in 36 games is 3-1 with 29 saves, a 3.00 ERA, a 3.51 FIP, a 1.39 WHIP, and 41 strikeouts in 36 innings.

Helsley in 275 games is 31-15 with 105 saves, a 2.67 ERA, a 3.16 FIP, a 1.13 WHIP, and 355 strikeouts in 299.2 innings.
