With less than two weeks until Premier League football returns, the transfer window is ramping up as clubs look to make last minute changes to their squad before the first game of the season.

Manchester United have so far made three new additions to their squad. Young left-back Diego Leon has joined from Cerro Porteno, although he not expected to go straight into the starting line-up.

Two that will be pushing for starts are Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. Cunha joined from Wolves for £62.5 million earlier in the summer, while Mbeumo joined from Brentford for an initial £65 million earlier this month.

United will hope that they are soon joined by Red Bull Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. The club are advancing with a potential move for the forward amid interest from Newcastle United.

If a deal for Sesko can be completed, then the next transfer move after that may already be being lined up, with the future of Alejandro Garnacho taking a step closer to being resolved.

As reported by the Telegraph, Chelsea maintain their interest in the United winger this summer, and is said to be the favoured destination for the player this window. The Blues are said to have made background checks on Garnacho, and hold no concerns over his character after being bombed out of the United squad by head coach Ruben Amorim.

It is added that Chelsea are expected to make an offer for the winger, but may wait until United’s search for a new striker is over.

The Blues themselves may need to create space in their squad with the sale and loan of attackers. Christopher Nkunku and Armando Broja are expected to leave permanently, while Marc Guiu and Tyrique George could complete loan moves.
