Manchester United ‘ready to battle’ against Chelsea for Aston Villa star and other transfer rumours

Manchester United have been linked with a transfer of Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez.

The winner of the World Cup is also interesting for Chelsea, according to Football Transfers. Martinez is an international teammate of United defender Lisandro Martinez, and manager Erik ten Hag is said to have appealed the chance to unite the pair at club level. Inter-shot stopper Andre Onana is another goaltender in the frame.

David de Gea has yet to negotiate a new contract at Old Trafford and it remains to be seen whether his 12-year stay at United will come to an end this summer. Martinez is said to be the ‘perfect replacement’ in Ten Hag’s eyes, with the 30-year-old reportedly pursuing Champions League football.

Elsewhere, United are reportedly holding talks with Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic’s agent.

The Old Trafford side are looking for a new first-choice centre-forward this summer, with transfers for Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen questionable due to their respective prices. Rasmus Hojlund, Goncalo Ramos and Randal Kolu Muani remain possibilities, but it is Vlahovic’s name that is now being mentioned.

Transfer market (via TeamTalk) says United, Arsenal and Chelsea have spoken to the Serbian representative. He scored 14 goals in 42 games for the Italian team last season, with Vlahovic who did not reach the heights of Turin. However, Vlahovic will not be cheap, according to the relationship. Juventus is said to appreciate it for 90 million euros.
