BREAKING: Man United are on the verge of signing a ‘talented’ free agent after another Premier League club failed to persuade him to join.

Manchester United are set to compete with Barcelona to hire the services of Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat this summer, according to journalist Sara Meini on Twitter via Spanish media outlet Fichajes.net.

The Red Devils are looking for reinforcements in the middle of the park this summer. To this end, the Moroccan is one of the players monitored by Old Trafford.

However, the Blaugrana are also interested in the midfielder. In addition to Camp Nou, Atletico Madrid and Italian giants AC Milan also have the 26-year-old on their radar. As things stand, both La Liga sides and United are leading the race to land Amrabat. The Moroccan is currently valued at around €30m. However, that seems a bit steep considering his contract expires next summer (transfermarkt).

The midfielder has been at Fiorentina for several years. But in the 2022/23 season, the 26-year-old caught a lot of attention with his World Cup appearances in Qatar.
