Man Utd transfer round-up: Ten Hag need to ‘sell up to five players’ to fund Amrabat deal
Erik ten Hag is close to adding a striker to his squad in the form of Rasmus Hojlund but could be pushing to sign a midfielder with Sofyan Amrabat linked with a move to Manchester United
Sofyan Amrabat is still linked with a move to Manchester United (
With less than two weeks until the start of the Premier League season, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag sets out his plans for the new season.
The Dutchman has already signed two players this summer and has a third arriving at Old Trafford with Rasmus Hojlund due to join from Atalanta. Danish international Hojlund was left on the bench by Atalanta for their final pre-season friendly against Bournemouth, with a move to the Premier League imminent.
His arrival would cost United spending over £150m in this period, still slightly down on the equivalent period in 2022. This is even after Mason Mount and Andre Onana joined the Red Devils. While United have been linked with more players arriving, it is said that it is the outfield players who are the priority. With that in mind here are the latest rumors to come out of Old Trafford.

Battle of Amrabat
United boss Ten Hag may have to “sell up to five players” to fund a transfer from Sofyan Amrabat this summer.
According to The Independent, the Red Devils now have to sell before they can buy, with Hojlund their latest signing of the summer. The report said United will have to let five-stars leave the club in the coming weeks if they are to secure a deal for Fiorentina’s Amrabat, who are worth around £30m. Scott McTominay is heavily linked with a move from the club. The Scotland international is interested in West Ham as he signs a replacement for Declan Rice. Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Fred could leave as Fulham are keen on the Brazilian.
Harry Maguire, Facundo Pellistri and Anthony Martial could also be allowed to leave.
Sunderland sign Bishop
United star Nathan Bishop left the club for Sunderland just weeks after signing a new contract and accidentally injuring Wrexham star Paul Mullin. The 23-year-old joined the Black Cats on a permanent basis and signed a three-year contract. After the move was officially announced, Bishop said: “You can see the direction the club is taking to develop young players and give them the opportunity to express themselves and progress in a big league. I find it so exciting. that I want to do it.” Come in and earn the right to play for such a great team and club.

Bishop’s last appearance for United was the 3-1 loss to Wrexham where he was brought down by Phil Parkinson after inflicting a lung injury on Mullin. He wrote an emotional apology on social media shortly after the incident.
