Despite a shaky start to the season, Manchester United are just five points behind fourth placed, Spurs, and seven behind leaders, Manchester City in the Premier League.

Erik ten Hag still needs to reinforce the squad and attack is a massive concern. The wingers have under performed and big money striker, Hojlund, is yet to find the net in the league.

In such a scenario, the name of Evan Ferguson is once again in the lime light.

According to an exclusive story covered by Football Insider, Man Utd have set sights on signing the Irish international from Brighton.

The Old Trafford outfit are consistently monitoring the progress of the player and could move in to hire his services.

Last week, the Seagulls agreed a new deal with their prized asset until 2029 and as per reports, he is valued at around £100million.

The 19-year-old netted six goals in ten league starts for the Amex outfit last term and also found the net three times in the FA Cup in four appearances.

As far as the current campaign is concerned, Ferguson has scored five goals in seven PL starts under De Zerbi.

Not to forget, back in September, the teenage center forward netted a brilliant hat-trick in the victory against Newcastle United.

The youngster is highly talented and has got huge potential but for now, he is not a proven quality striker and therefore, the mammoth price tag of £100million cannot be justified.
