Michail Antonio has made a prediction on this weekend’s winner. Bournemouth vs Liverpool.

This Sunday marks Liverpool’s return to Premier League action after what seems like an eternity.

Michail Antonio has made a prediction on this weekend’s winner. Bournemouth vs Liverpool.

After defeating Newcastle United 4-2 on New Year’s Day, the Reds have not participated in a league match since. They have since advanced in the FA Cup and placed a half-foot in the Carabao Cup final. But the Premier League is back now that the batteries have, presumably, been recharged.

But it won’t be a simple game. This season, Liverpool has already visited Dean Court to play Bournemouth, and they won handily, 2-1. Last season, the Reds also suffered home losses. There is a chance that lightning will strike again because the Cherries are performing well under Andoni Iraola.

Michail Antonio, a forward for West Ham United, says as much. Since Liverpool isn’t Antonio’s favorite team right now, neither are Liverpool supporters, perhaps this should be taken with a grain of salt. However, this week, during an interview with The Footballer’s Football Podcast, the 33-year-old predicted Bournemouth will triumph on Sunday.

With a knowing howl of amusement, Antonio projected Bournemouth to win 1-0. “1-0, [Dominic] Solanke.” However, Callum Wilson, his co-host and a former player for the Cherries, disagreed.

The Newcastle striker stated, “As a footballing person, realistically, I think it will be a tight game because Bournemouth are doing well, but it’s going to be 2-1 to Liverpool.” the voice of logic.

Antonio forecasts Liverpool’s defeat.

Although we don’t completely discount Antonio’s prognosis, we don’t think the Jamaican international has given his projections enough thought.

It’s obvious that Antonio has a current grievance with the Reds. That doesn’t feel very malicious, but it does indicate that he won’t support them to win right now.

However, his prediction does hint that this would not be a simple task for Liverpool.

Earlier in the season, they didn’t take a complete squad to the Carabao Cup on the South Coast. However, that match demonstrated Bournemouth’s potential threat.

The Cherries were in bad form at the time and appeared headed for relegation. But Iraola has drastically changed everything in the last few months.

Eight league games have passed with Bournemouth winning six, drawing one, and losing one. The former Red Solanke is blazing and they’ve advanced in the FA Cup. They are in fact experiencing a run of form.

During that run, they defeated Manchester United resoundingly at Old Trafford and played a visually pleasing draw with Aston Villa. You should not take them lightly.

Fortunately, Liverpool is also somewhat of a player. Wilson’s prognosis is certainly lot more reasonable, although there are several issues with it.
