Manchester United flop, Antony, scored just a single goal in the Premier League last year and is yet to net or create a goal this season having made 22 appearances in all competitions.

In such a scenario, the Red Devils are looking to reinforce the right flank and the name of Marcus Edwrads is in the focus.

According to a story confirmed by FT, Man Utd are targeting the signing of the Sporting CP winger to reinforce the offense at Old Trafford.

The news source have mentioned that Ineos, who recently became part owners of the club, believe the 25-year-old would be a decent player to strengthen the position with Antony in horrible form this season.

It is reported that Man Utd are confident that the signing of Edwards can be sealed for a fee of £30million, if not now then in the summer.

The English attacker can feature on either flank and even in the central attacking roles (SS, AM), but mainly, he is a right winger with a quality left foot.

In the current season, so far, Edwards has started 13 games in the Primeira Liga and directly contributed in 8 goals (4 goals and 4 assists).

In all competitions, the former Tottenham winger has netted 6 goals and provided 5 assists for Sporting, who are currently leading the league table in Portugal.

Keeping in view the terrible form of Antony, in all fairness, Man Utd must splash the cash to sign a right winger before the transfer window shuts next week.

Marcus Edwards has more than two years left on his contract with the Lions. Should Man Utd bid £30million to seal his signing?
