From the onset He was poor,He is a bad luck to this team,He really cost us today’: Harry Maguire named ONE Man United player that really struggled today

Paul Merson has given his verdict on the performance of Manchester United winger Omari Forson against Fulham at Old Trafford.

The former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit has said that he felt sorry for Forson during the time he was on the pitch at Old Trafford.

So, what has Paul Merson said about Manchester United winger Omari Forson? Let’s take a look.

Paul Merson comments on Omari Forson display for Manchester United vs Fulham
Well, Manchester United took on Fulham at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Omari Forson started the match for the Red Devils, who could lose defender Raphael Varane at the end of the season. It was the winger’s full Premier League debut.

The 19-year-old played against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and on Saturday, he started against Fulham.

United manager Erik ten Hag deployed Forson on the right of a three-man attacking midfield in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

The winger did not have the best of times and was taken off in the 53rd minute. He took one shot which was not on target, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 89.5%, and took 21 touches.

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson was following the match for Sky Sports, and he noted that United players around Forson let him down.

Merson said about Forson on Sky Sports News (4:13 pm, February 24, 2024); “He didn’t really get into the game. It was hard for him.

“When you are a young kid and you come into the game, you are relying on the team to play well. They didn’t play well in that first half, and obviously he suffers at the same time. I felt sorry for the kid.

“It’s a great experience for him, but the players around him, for me, let him down. They didn’t perform around him, which would have held him.”

My View: Omari Forson will get more chances
In my opinion, Manchester United winger Omari Forson will get more chances for the first team.

If United manager Erik ten Hag thinks that Forson is good enough to start at Old Trafford now, then it shows just how highly he is rated. Interest from Newcastle United and Sunderland highlights the reputation he has in the footballing community.

Yes, Forson did not have the best of times against Fulham, but he is only 19 now. He is just starting his career.

The England Under-20 international, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, has a bright future, and I think that the Old Trafford will see more of him in the coming months and years.
