When is Liverpool vs Chelsea? Kick-off time, TV channel, team news and odds

With Liverpool needing a win to maintain their title tilt and Chelsea desperate to stay in the top four, this could be a real showstopper

All eyes will be on Anfield this weekend when title-chasing Liverpool host top-four hopefuls Chelsea.

After warming up with a routine 2-0 victory in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie against Porto, the Reds will be in buoyant mood ahead of the visit of Chelsea, who scraped a slender 1-0 win over Slavia Prague in the Europa League on Thursday.

Manchester City kick-off earlier in the day against Crystal Palace, so Pep Guardiola’s side could move top of the table at least for a few hours.

While Chelsea fans will still be gloating about Steven Gerrard’s infamous slip, Jurgen Klopp’s men have a chance to banish that memory.

The stakes couldn’t be higher for Liverpool, but will they hold their nerve? Whatever happens, it looks set to be a thrilling contest.

Here is everything you need to know about the match.

    Match details

Liverpool’s only major injury issue concerns Adam Lallana, who has been sidelined for the last two games with a knee problem.

The game may have come too soon for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, despite him coming through an hour of a behind-closed-doors friendly for the under-23s on Tuesday.

Andy Robertson also returns to the fold after missing the Porto win through suspension.

Chelsea, meanwhile, rang the changes for their victory over Slavia Prague. Eden Hazard was on the bench but he will be hoping to cause the Reds’ backline problems this weekend.

David Luiz, N’Golo Kante and Gonzalo Higuain were also among the named substitutes in Prague, while Maurizio Sarri didn’t even include Callum Hudson-Odoi in his matchday squad as he sought to rest players for the trip to Merseyside.
