Luis Diaz could reportedly be set to leave Liverpool if Mohamed Salah signs a new contract at the club.
The Colombian winger joined the Reds from Porto in January 2022, scoring six goals and assisting another five in his first season.
Diaz missed half of the previous campaign due to a knee injury but has been in fine form for Liverpool in recent months.
Despite his ten goals and five assists this season and key role Jurgen Klopp’s first choice XI, The Sun report that Liverpool are prepared to listen to offers for him in the summer.
Securing a new deal for Salah, with his current contract expiring in 2025, is set to be a top priority for the club and whoever comes in to replace Klopp as manager.
And it is claim that, should an agreement be reached for Salah, Diaz could then leave Anfield, with ‘several’ Spanish clubs said to be interested.
It would come as a shock exit at Liverpool, with Diaz a popular player at Anfield, but Arsenal legend Ray Parlour believes financial fair play could play a role in their decision.
When asked on talkSPORT Breakfast if he could see a sale happening, he said: “Well, if they can keep Salah, certainly. You’ve always go to look at the financial side of it now.
“Clubs will have to start doing deals now just to keep it ticking along and you might have to lose certain players in certain teams which you probably don’t want to lose. But, you’d rather lose him than you would Salah, if you know what I mean.
“There’ll be a lot of clubs after him, definitely but I think Jurgen Klopp is leaving, whoever gets the job is in a decent position because after seeing all the youngsters out there performing at the moment for Liverpool, the academy’s coming through.
“If you can sign Mo Salah and [Virgil] Van Dijk and really key players [down to new contracts], that experience in the team as well, then it’s only going one way for any new manager.
“It’s in a good position at the moment but Diaz I’m sure, whether he will go to LaLiga or stay in the Premier League is a big matter, but I’m sure lots of clubs will be in for him.”
Liverpool spent around £147million on new signings last summer compared to the estimated £52million they made in sales.
With financial fair play rules becoming stricter in the Premier League, a sale of their Colombian star could help balance the books, especially if Salah is offered more than his current £350,000-a-week salary.
Diaz has made 27 starts for Liverpool in all competitions this season and is on his best scoring tally for the club to date.
Salah has maintained his world-class efforts for the Reds too, with the Egyptian winger scoring 19 and assisting ten so far.
