Manchester United clashed heads with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium earlier this evening as they looked to secure a good result in the Manchester derby. The Red Devils made a great start to the game as Marcus Rashford put them ahead with a fabulous strike from long-range. Man United sat on their lead well and managed to get to the half-time interval 1-0 up on the scoreline.
Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player performed during the contest against Man City.
GK: Andre Onana – 7.5/10
Onana made a handful of solid saves at the back but still conceded three times in the second half.
RB: Diogo Dalot – 6.5/10
He did his best to keep things tidy inside his half and made two decent runs with the ball.
Varane cleared the danger when he could but won’t be pleased after conceding three times in the second 45 minutes.
CB: Jonny Evans – 7/10
He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and was replaced in the 68th minute.
Lindelof performed his defensive duties well but offered very little going forward.
CDM: Casemiro – 7/10
He anchored the midfield well and made two decent runs with the ball.
Garnacho came back to defend when he could but lacked quality in the final third.
CM: Scott McTominay – 6/10
He was full of energy and running at the centre of the park but struggled to catch the eye in the opponent’s half.
Mainoo did his fair share of defending but didn’t do much going forward.
LW: Bruno Fernandes – 7/10
He picked up an assist for setting up Rashford’s goal. Otherwise, Fernandes was a quiet presence in the final third.
ST: Marcus Rashford – 7/10
Rashford scored a stunning goal in the eighth minute but wasted some decent chances to add to his tally in the first half.
CB: Willy Kambwala – 5.5/`10
He failed to keep things solid at the back.
RW: Antony – 6/10
His impact on the game was minimal.
