Expected Manchester United line-up against Brentford after Ten Hag encouraging fitness review

Expected Manchester United’s lineup for their match against Brentford follows Ten Hag’s encouraging fitness update.

Our expected starting lineup for Manchester United’s Premier League match against Brentford on Saturday night.

After the final international break of the season, the Red Devils will finally be back in action. This means that from now until the summer, the players can focus solely on club matters.

Actually, given their turbulent seasons, Mason Mount and Marcus Rashford may not be able to make it to Germany; instead, other players on the team may be actively trying to get better before the Euros.

This weekend’s trip to the Gtech Community Stadium provides a chance for the Reds to build on the emphatic FA Cup triumph over Liverpool, which proved that they can indeed go head-to-head with in-form sides when it matters, as well as come back from trailing positions to ultimately reign victorious.

Erik ten Hag told reporters today there is a chance that stalwart centre-half Lisandro Martinez could make his comeback to the squad along with ‘some players’ also returning from injury.

He expects long-term absentee Luke Shaw to feature again before the season ends, although the forthcoming fixtures will certainly come too soon for him.

    Predicted starting XI

Onana, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Dalot, Mainoo, McTominay, Garnacho, Fernandes (C), Rashford, Hojlund.

Man Utd fans angry as Roy Keane speaks of “criminal” Man United moment despite 4-3 vs Liverpool outcome

Former United captain Roy Keane slams “criminal” defending which led to Liverpool’s two goals just before the halftime whistle.

Manchester United are through to the semi-finals of the FA Cup after beating bitter rivals Liverpool 4-3 with Amad Diallo scoring the winner in the 120th minute.

An Instant classic that will live long in the competition’s memory, The Reds took the lead through Scott McTominay and were ahead for most of the first half before lax defending and lucky deflections saw Jürgen Klopp’s men score twice in as many minutes, with Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah finding the back of the net, and took their lead into the interval.

This incensed former United captain Roy Keane, who was watching the game as a pundit for ITV, and the Irishman ripped into Erik ten Hag’s side in his usual fashion following what he deemed as a subpar performance.

Highlighting Marcus Rashford as a culprit leading to one of Liverpool’s goals, the ex-midfielder felt that the team from Merseyside were knocking on the door and a goal seemed inevitable.

“It was coming. It’s been the biggest worry for United this season – they’ve been so open,” the treble winner began. “They need someone to sit, it’s called game-management, Liverpool were getting stronger but United have got to get someone in behind there, protect the back four.

“To give up the chances, they’ve got players back here [Mac Allister equaliser], but the intensity from the attacker, Rashford, my God, you’re talking about an FA Cup quarter-final – get to people.

“For Liverpool, it’s way too simple get out to him but before that, not enough aggression, it’s no good having the numbers back if they’re not aggressive, you’ve got to be aggressive.

“This is injury time [Salah 2-1], go in at 1-1, game-management if you’re on the ropes, you can come out in the second half. Liverpool haven’t been that great going forward but if you keep giving them time and space in these areas, they get punished. For United to play out from the back in injury time, it’s criminal.”

These comments were said at half-time, shortly after Liverpool had turned the tide of the fixture and well before anyone knew the chaos and jubilation that was set to ensue with the Red Devils killing any hopes of a historic quadruple for the Scousers.
