Micah Richards claims Man City will only win PL title if one player manages to stay fit
Now that another campaign is set to get underway, a pundit and former City player has made a claim about how the Blues could fare in yet another title race and picked one player who could play a key role along the way.
Micah Richards says Man City will win the Premier League title if Erling Haaland stays fit
When discussing who will win the Premier League title in a recent edition of The Rest Is Football, Micah Richards had this to say on where he thinks City will finish in the table.
He said: “I’m going to say first if [Erling] Haaland stays fit. If not, the Arsenal are going to win it.”
Haaland will be vital for City again
Despite missing a chunk of last season with an ankle injury, Haaland still managed to score 27 goals in 31 league appearances.
Winning his second Golden Boot in a row at the end of the previous campaign, the strike undoubtedly played a key role in seeing City win another league title.
Described by Ruben Dias as being “driven” in terms of his mindset in wanting to succeed, the Norwegian will undeniably be hoping to avoid any injuries this season so he can score more goals and help his side win more silverware.
Moving forward, if Haaland does end up getting through the season with no serious injury blows that keep him sidelined for a significant period of time, he’ll undoubtedly be a big factor in whether City will land another title or not.
