Ruckman Iliro Smit will return to Collingwood’s VFL side for what will be their final game of 2024 as they host Brisbane at the AIA Vitality Centre on Saturday.

The mid-season draftee returns after suffering concussion in the side’s Round 18 victory over Richmond, and is part of six changes.

Dangerous small forward Joe Richards is another AFL listed star to return, with the 24-year-old set to play his first game of VFL since Round Six.

The VFL-listed Kaden Schreiber and Chad Mulvogue also come back into the side for Saturday’s clash, while Christian Algeri and Isaiah Markovsky will make their VFL debuts.

Coming out of last week’s side is Harvey Harrison who suffered a knee injury in the opening minutes of the match against the Swans.

Ash Johnson, Conor Willis, Oliver Warburton, Tom Wilson, and Wil Parker (AFL promotion) will all miss the clash as well.

The Pies are searching for their fourth win of 2024 as they look to close the season on a high.

The Pies’ most recent clash with Brisbane was a shoot out at Brighton Homes Arena earlier this year, with Richards’ six-goal haul not quite enough to get Collingwood over the line as they went down by six points.

Richards (13 goals from six games) and Ben Crocker (17 goals from 12 games) will be the key targets inside fifty for the Pies.
