Manchester City are unlikely to have any of their injured players available for the Carabao Cup tie with Tottenham on Wednesday night – and even if they were in contention Pep Guardiola would be unlikely to use them.

The City chief has already suggested he will heavily rotate for the cup tie given the volume of games City face and the fixtures on the horizon before the next international break. His lack of substitutions on Saturday in the narrow 1-0 win over Southampton was perhaps another clear indication of his desire to have those on the bench at the weekend, in the XI at Spurs.

Here’s the latest City injury news and return dates ahead of that trip to the capital.

Jeremy Doku

Injury: Unknown

What we know: The winger has suffered an injury that is likely to sideline him until after the November international break. Guardiola said on Friday that the issue would take a few weeks to recover from.

Potential return date: Tottenham (H) November 23

Jack Grealish

Injury: Unknown

What we know: The winger picked up an injury in training ahead of the Champions League tie with Sparta Prague and is not fit enough to feature this weekend. It remains to be see when he will return to action.

Potential return date: Tottenham (A) October 30

Kyle Walker

Injury: Unknown

What we know: Walker missed out at Wolves with a fitness issue. He played one of England’s two games during the international break and Guardiola is unsure of when he will return. The weekend visit of Southampton may well come too soon.

Potential return date: Tottenham (A) October 30

Kevin De Bruyne

Injury: Thigh

What we know: De Bruyne has not featured since picking up an injury against Inter Milan in the Champions League. He is back in light training but Guardiola confirmed the Belgian still does not feel right and all precautions are being taken.

Potential return date: Bournemouth (A) November 2

Rodri

Injury: Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL)

What we know: Rodri has sustained a serious knee injury and will miss the rest of the campaign. The hope for City will be that he can be fit to start when the 2025-26 campaign begins.

Potential return date: August 2025

Oscar Bobb

Injury: Fractured Leg

What we know: The Norwegian suffered his leg break in August and he is now in a race against the clock to come back before the end of the year. The hope is that Bobb will play some part over the festive period.

Potential return date: December
