Jude Bellingham asks for transfer and Luis Diaz ready for return – Reuters
As the Liverpool internationals set off to play for their country, there was an update on Jude Bellingham’s alleged summer move to Anfield.
Bellingham ‘less likely’ to sign
He doesn’t even play for Liverpool, but Bellingham is a name even casual speakers know by now.
After shining for England at the World Cup, there was hardly a day he wasn’t linked with a move to Anfield.
Fans were excited again as Alexander-Arnold was pictured with the Dortmund midfielder during a concert on Sunday night.
However, those same fans received a major blow the following morning when respected The Athletic journalist David Ornstein reported that Liverpool were now “looking increasingly unlikely” to sign the 19-year-old wonderkid. Ornstein said: “Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid appear to have emerged as the most credible destinations, although he is under contract to Dortmund until the summer of 2025 and they don’t want to penalize a departure.
“As things stand, it is considered increasingly unlikely that Liverpool will sign Bellingham in this summer’s transfer window.”
The reporter cited “the expected fee, the financial clout of rival suitors and their [Liverpool’s] reluctance to get into a bidding war” as the main obstacles to a deal.
