How many goals does Haaland need to break the Premier League goalscoring record in a season?
Erling Haaland has broken the record for most goals scored in a 38-game Premier League season after hitting number 33 against Arsenal to boost Manchester City’s title chances.
The strike saw him eclipse Mo Salah’s record 32 goals in a 38-game season set in 2017/18, his first season at Liverpool.
Haaland will now have his sights set on the Premier League single-season goalscoring record, held by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole, when the competition held 42 games instead of 38.
Cole scored 34 times in 40 games for Newcastle in 1993/94 while Shearer, the Premier League’s all-time top scorer with 260 goals, netted 34 of 42 for Blackburn Rovers in 1994/95.

Earlier this season, pundits questioned Haaland’s ability to level the game as they believed he was hampering City’s build. He delivered a masterclass against Arsenal with two assists and a goal that brought him closer to the Golden Boot victory. The Norwegian had an excellent start to life in Manchester and could end his debut campaign in England with three winning medals if everything is planning.
A height would capture the place of City as a legendary Premier League team, which would keep up with the Invincibles, the heights of Man United 1998-99 and the record breakers of Mourinhos 2004-05 Chelsea breakers.

Haaland exposed the theory that he has difficulty scoring in a more competitive league than in the Bundesliga, and on course to become the perfect striker under Pep Guardiola. Haaland not only achieved 33 times in the league, but also provided seven templates.
In her biggest game of the season, he probably delivered his most complete performance in a city shirt, fell deeply and played Kevin de Bruyne to score twice while he was thinking of an opportunity for his own late when they thought of Arsenal with 4: 1. The pair still have a long way to go before rivaling Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba and Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp as one of the best partnerships of the Premier League era, but they are certainly on the right side. trace.
Haaland is currently on 49 goals in all competitions and with potentially 11 games to go he could very well end up at 60.
