Roy Keane tore into Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford after Saturday’s defeat against Tottenham branding last season’s top goalscorer ‘a child’.
The England international signed a lucrative new long-term contract in the summer, ending months of speculation over his future.
Given the injury to new signing Rasmus Hojlund and the lack of investment in another new striker, Rashford has been forced to start the new campaign his less favoured central striking role.
Rashford showed flashes of promises in the opening half but, like the rest of his teammates, faded after the break much to the annoyance of Keane.
He told Sky Sports: ‘Rashford playing up through the middle again the usual stuff. He’s like a child out there playing up through the middle?
‘His first few touches when he gets it suggest he doesn’t want to play up through the middle but you have to you got to do a job for the team tonight.’
