Man Utd have eight players who are in the final year of their contracts at Old Trafford.
Manchester United could lose up to eight players for nothing in 2024 as their contracts come to an end.
United have been proactive in securing their stars to new deals since Erik ten Hag took charge, with Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot all penning new deals this year. But a good number of players are now into the final year of their contracts.
It doesn’t necessarily put United in a bad position. Ten Hag may be happy to wave goodbye to some of them as he continues his rebuild and others still have one-year options the club can trigger when they wish.

Anthony Martial – The French striker was placed on the transfer list in the summer but yet another injury after another poor season meant there were no suitors. It’s just as well as injuries elsewhere have meant United have been desperately short on attacking options and have needed to use Anthony Martial a fair amount this season.
With his contract coming up, United finally have a chance to cut ties with the player who has struggled to reach his full potential but they might be tempted to extend his contract for one more year to keep their striker ranks healthy.

Victor Lindelof – It would be a surprise if the club didn’t move to trigger the option in Victor Lindelof’s contract. The centre-back has proven to be a dependable stand-in whenever injuries have befallen Raphael Varane or Lisandro Martinez.
There were rumblings from the Swede over a lack of game time in the summer but he has played in all but one match so far this season and appears content at Old Trafford.
Jonny Evans – One of the few players without a clause in his deal, Jonny Evans returned to United on a one-year deal this summer to prove extra defensive cover. Thanks to United’s extraordinary injury crisis, he has already had to start a match which he might have expected to do.
The Northern Ireland captain was excellent in the win over Burnley, too, setting up the winner and seeing a goal of his own ruled out. If his levels remain high, it wouldn’t be that surprising to see him stick around for another year.
Hannibal Mejbri – A week ago you might have looked at Hannibal Mejbri’s deal coming up and expect him to leave. Though rated by Ten Hag, he had never been given a significant chance in the side and it was hard to see where it would come.

Yet, with options limited, the Tunisian has started the last two matches and applied himself really well, bringing an energy and urgency that was lacking in the middle. He has an option on his contract and his time at the club might not be over yet.
Tom Heaton – Tom Heaton was keen on moving on in the summer with his heart set on more minutes in the twilight of his career but ended up staying after being given assurances of his involvement. However, the subsequent signing of Altay Bayindir has pushed him down the pecking order.
United would likely want to keep him as an experienced and home-grown third choice but Heaton might want to follow through and face a new challenge.
Sofyan Amrabat – The deadline day arrival’s situation is different to the previous six names. Sofyan Amrabat was signed on an initial loan for the season from Fiorentina for a £10m fee.

Sergio Reguilon – Spanish left-back Sergio Reguilon also arrived on loan on deadline day but United do not have an option to buy him in the deal. United were left scrambling for a left-back when Shaw joined Tyrell Malacia on the injury list and opted for the Spurs man.
Reguilon has been bright in his early appearances so United might try to sign him but he will have to return to North London when his loan ends first.

I saw a lot of the ball behind the right wing but used little of it. He appeared to be in danger of being sent off before a replacement could be found.

He was able to sweep to save some of his sloppy teammates and the danger from set-pieces in the LASK area.

Harvey Elliott (June 10):
He had few chances until he delivered the perfect pass to Gravenberch for their second goal. Picked up later in the game when there is more space.
Ryan Gravenberch (8/10):
He looks strong in midfield with his smart passes and quick decisions. Covered a lot of ground and did a great job of preparing Diaz for his goal.
Wataru Endo (4/10):
Poor passing, not strong enough defending and too slow to react most of the time.
Attackers
Ben Doak (5/10):
I struggled to create anything against a tight defence. The atmosphere was somewhat brighter in the second half but calmed down in injury time.
Darwin Nunez (July 10):
He should have scored with his head in the first half and generally struggled to win the ball back, but his penalty was classy. He won the ball and provided good assists for Salah.
Luis Diaz (8/10):
His movements and speed are visible. He didn’t have much freedom thanks to LASK’s marking until his excellent run to the finish line.
Subs and manager

He always look good in his possession.
Alexis MacAllister (6/10):
Good follow-up and added stability to improve the Red Devils’ ability to control the game in the second half.
