The latest morning headlines from Old Trafford involving Erik ten Hag, Jadon Sancho and Andre Onana.
Manchester United desperately need a win to restore confidence at Old Trafford and beyond.
Erik ten Hag and his underperforming side – who sit 10th in the Premier League standings after seven games – will continue the campaign against Brentford this afternoon. United have only totted-up nine points from the 21 up for grabs so far this season, and have been defeated six times in all competitions.
Off the pitch, there have been several high-profile situations to deal with, too, including an ongoing takeover saga and Jadon Sancho’s astonishing fallout with his manager. Here are your latest United morning headlines.
Ten Hag rebuffs question about Sancho
Sancho’s exile is certain to reach the five-week mark, after Ten Hag declined to discuss the winger’s absence from the first-team squad during his latest pre-match press conference.
Sancho has not played for United since he came on in the comeback win against Nottingham Forest on August 26 and he was dropped from the matchday squad at Arsenal eight days later.
Ten Hag said Sancho’s omission was due to training form, which Sancho then disputed in his now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter) in which he accused Ten Hag of lying.
