Erik ten Hag – Manchester United manager
Manchester United are looking to reinforce their backline that has been shaky this term due to multiple injury concerns.
The absence of Lisandro Martinez have hurt the Red Devils badly and Erik ten Hag is even ready to get rid of 2018 World Cup winner, Raphael Varane in summer.
In such a scenario, a number of center backs are linked with the Old Trafford club and one of them is Real Sociedad’s Robin Le Normand.
Reports last month indicated that Man Utd are plotting a move to sign the Spaniard to strengthen the defense.
More recently, Spanish source, Nacional, have revealed that Man Utd are willing to pay the £52m release clause to sign Le Normand.
The 20-time English champions were even interested in the central defender in the summer but Real Sociedad refused to negotiate with them.
Therefore, the Catalan outlet have mentioned that this time around, Man Utd want to skip the negotiation by activating the £52m clause.
Le Normand was a key member of the La Roja side that won the UEFA Nations League back in June. Moreover, since them, he featured in every European Championships (2024) qualification fixture.
In the last contest vs Georgia, the 27-year-old scored his first ever goal for Spain, who went on to win 3-1.
