Man Utd should’ve re-signed outstanding star with just 4-appearances for the club- Sam Allardyce

Sam Allardyce believes Man Utd ought to have re-signed the outstanding player who played just four times for the teamSam Allardyce has expressed his opinion about the former Manchester United player who, in his opinion, ought to have been re-signed for the summer.Wilfred Zaha was the last player Sir Alex Ferguson signed when he joined Manchester United in 2013.

The transfer didn’t work out, though, as Zaha made just four appearances under David Moyes before being transferred to Cardiff on loan halfway through his rookie campaign.

After being returned to Palace on loan, his time was extended, and he went on to establish himself as a legend inside the club.

He then joined Galatasaray last summer where he earns £100k-a-week and has already bitten United in the Champions League, as he returned with a goal at Old Trafford in their 3-2 win.

Sam Allardyce drops verdict on Wilfred Zaha and Manchester United

Legendary English football manager Sam Allardyce was speaking on his No Tippy Tappy Football podcast. Here he was discussing United and mentioned that he’d have re-signed Zaha for the club.

“I’d have gone and got him. I’ve worked with him obviously, but I would’ve taken him on a free all day long,” the former England manager said.

“I think he wanted Champions League football,” Allardyce continued.

“Well I would’ve given him Champions League football at Man United, he had Fergie didn’t he, but he was too young then he was.”

Looking at United’s wingers now, Zaha isn’t a bad shout

If asked in the summer – it’s unlikely a United fan would have wanted Zaha to return to United.

However, situations change and now with Jadon Sancho out in the cold still after his falling out in September, Marcus Rashford out of form and out of the team, Antony still faltering in a United shirt and Alejandro Garnacho still raw in many areas – he could’ve brought some vital experience to the club.

Zaha is undoubtedly a top talent and one who would probably be starting under Erik ten Hag right now.
