Manchester City haven’t quite been at their best in the absence of Ballon d’Or winner Rodri.
They were knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of Tottenham earlier this week and life in the Premier League hasn’t been as easy as it sometimes is either.
As a result, Manchester City have been linked with a move for Torino’s Samuele Ricci, who has been playing in a deep midfield role under Paolo Vanoli this season and who is impressing for club and country.
L’Interista look at the situation of the midfielder. They mention interest from City but also send the message that Pep Guardiola’s side will have to hurry up, if they want to land Ricci.
They reveal that there is ‘no shortage’ of clubs who have sought information about the Italian and there is also the possibility of the inclusion of other major foreign clubs in the chase.
His current deal at Torino runs out in the summer of 2026 and with no renewal in sight, Il Toro do not want to lose Ricci for free. Their current asking price stands at €35m and that is what Manchester City will have to pay to sign the Azzurri man.
Inter are also a potential suitor and they could move on players to land the ex-Empoli man. If Hakan Calhanoglu departs though, Ricci will be his replacement and Inter have made up their mind on that front.
