Breaking news;Rafael Devers sends major warning to Red Sox………… Check out everything in full

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers has made it clear that he is unwilling to change positions following the team’s recent acquisition of Alex Bregman. The Red Sox signed Bregman to a three-year, $120 million contract, leading to discussions about potential infield adjustments. Despite conversations with manager Alex Cora and chief baseball officer Craig Breslow, Devers remains firm in his stance to continue playing third base, stating, “Third base is my position. That’s what I’ve played.”

This situation has created a potential conflict within the team’s infield alignment, as both Devers and Bregman are established third basemen. Bregman is recognized for his superior defensive skills, which adds complexity to the decision-making process. Devers, who is in the second year of a 10-year, $313.5 million contract, emphasized that his role at third base was assured when he signed the contract. The Red Sox also have top infield prospects Kristian Campbell and Marcelo Mayer, further complicating the infield configuration.

In addition to his position concerns, Devers has previously expressed dissatisfaction with the team’s roster construction. In February 2024, he openly criticized the front office for not making sufficient offseason moves to strengthen the team, stating, “Everybody knows what we need. You know what we need and they know what we need.” This candidness highlights Devers’ commitment to the team’s success and his desire for the organization to make the necessary adjustments to become more competitive.
