“Amanda Bynes breaks silence on wild claim Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider impregnated her at 13”

Amanda Bynes has publicly spoken out after a viral TikTok video ignited a firestorm of allegations claiming she was impregnated at 13 by longtime Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider. The former child star, now 39, moved quickly to shut down the rumor, calling it a manufactured lie created from edited footage that misrepresented her words, her past, and her relationship with Schneider.

The controversy began when a TikTok clip appeared online showing Bynes supposedly confessing to a secret pregnancy during her early Nickelodeon years. The video was edited to make it seem as though she was accusing Schneider of impregnating her during the filming of The Amanda Show. But according to Bynes, none of it was real. She explained that the clip was created by combining an unrelated Instagram video she posted—which simply showed a man she was dating at the time—with old Nickelodeon footage and dramatic captions intended to suggest a confession that never happened.

Within hours of the video spreading, dozens of blogs began running sensational headlines, and fans flooded social media with speculation. Bynes, who has kept a relatively low public profile in recent years, felt compelled to respond. Speaking through a statement to the media, she made it clear that the viral video was “completely fake” and “designed to go viral by lying.” She emphasized that she does not have a TikTok account and that any videos circulating under her name on the platform are impersonations.

Her denial aligns with assessments from multiple fact-checking outlets, which quickly flagged the TikTok as fabricated. Analysts noted that the audio and visuals were spliced together from unrelated sources, and no credible evidence exists to support the pregnancy claim. In fact, the allegation had previously surfaced in other hoax videos over the past year, each similarly debunked.

The story has gained extra traction because of renewed attention surrounding Schneider, the once-dominant creator behind popular Nickelodeon series like Drake & Josh, iCarly, and Zoey 101. The producer has been the subject of intense scrutiny following the release of Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, a docuseries exploring inappropriate and problematic behavior within Nickelodeon during his tenure. While the series included accounts of questionable conduct—such as uncomfortable scenes involving minors—none of the individuals interviewed accused Schneider of sexual assault or impregnating a minor. Schneider himself has acknowledged past boundaries he crossed as a boss but denies any criminal wrongdoing.

Given the heightened climate and public interest in former child actors speaking out, the fake TikTok featuring Bynes quickly gained traction. But Bynes’ message is blunt: she has never made such an accusation, the claim is baseless, and the video misusing her likeness is part of an ongoing pattern of online impersonation.

For Bynes, who has dealt with years of media scrutiny and personal struggles made public, the resurfacing of fabricated stories underscores the challenges celebrities face in the era of deepfakes and viral misinformation. Her response aims to shut the rumor down decisively while reminding fans and the public to verify content before sharing it.
