Man Utd teenager Alejandro Garnacho picked up the injury in the weekend’s draw against Southampton.
Alejandro Garnacho has confirmed he will miss Manchester United and Argentina matches this week through injury. The 18-year-old was spotted leaving Old Trafford on crutches following the weekend’s goalless draw with Southampton and has now provided an update on his injury situation.
Garnacho came on in the 73rd minute but was substituted in injury time and headed straight into the tunnel after a tackle from Southampton right-back Kyle Walker-Peters.
The youngster United has confirmed that he will now miss his club’s two games against Real Betis and Fulham this week, as well as Argentina’s next two games against Panama and Curacao. Read more: Ten Hag must break the golden rule after a complaint from De Gea.
“It’s hard to put into words how I feel right now,” Garnacho wrote on social media. “Unfortunately I won’t be able to help my team and my team-mates in the upcoming games in what is a very important part of the season for us at Manchester United.
“I am disappointed that I also missed the opportunity to be with my Argentina national team teammates in what would have been a great proud moment for me and my family.
“This is part of football and our profession, but I’m already focused on my recovery.
God taught me never to give up and I will make sure to come back stronger than ever!
