Shocking words from Alexandre Lacazette stunning Arsenal fans after hearing the Arsenal news
Arsenal announced yesterday that William Saliba has signed a new contract and Alexandre Lacazette is delighted for his young compatriot.
The Gunners signed the French defender in 2019 when Unai Emery was manager. Arsenal fans at the time were overjoyed, but they had to wait three years before they could see him in action in the famous red and white.
Now Saliba is one of Arsenal’s most important players and his future is secure for the next four years.
William Saliba was entering the final year of his contract with Arsenal and there were still fears that a big club would emerge and poach him. Even the Frenchman could easily have wrapped up his deal to put himself in the best possible position for a lucrative offer from Arsenal or any other club next year.
Edu and Mikel Arteta, however, didn’t go that far. Saliba had been in talks with Arsenal for months over a new deal, which was finally sealed this week.
The 22-year-old has signed a new four-year contract and Arsenal fans are absolutely delighted for him.
Yesterday Saliba took to Instagram to announce his new contract and received the love of many of his teammates, past and present. Reiss Nelson wrote: “Boy!”
Granit Xhaka replied, “Congratulations, brother!
Alexandre Lacazette has just decided to type three cheering emojis and applaud the Frenchman and Arsenal for finalizing this deal ahead of the start of the new season.

Arsenal are in talks to sign one of the most wanted players this summer
The Gunners have been a success in the transfer market so far this summer and have spent big to ensure their incredible 2022/23 campaign under Mikel Arteta isn’t a flash in the pan.
North Londoners have already announced the signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea – a sure sign of the shift in power in the capital – and the deals for Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber are believed to be nearly complete.
Arteta and Edu’s work won’t stop there as they will also lose some key players from the squad that performed so well last season. granite And that’s where Lavia could step in as the Southampton youngster is set to leave following Saints’ relegation from the Premier League. The 19-year-old is one of many midfield targets to be linked – players like Moises Caicedo and even Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouaméni have been mentioned – but the Belgium international appears to be the most advanced.
Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle are also monitoring the situation, with the teenager ‘evolving to become one of the most sought-after players this summer’. The Saints are reportedly expecting a £50m refund to sell their precious fortune.
It’s hard to imagine Lavia coming in for the Gunners week in and week out –
he’s outmatched by Rice in all but three key defensive midfield FBRef metrics – but he would be a terrific option in the building depending on the opposition, especially given the difficult European relations ahead. The three areas where he actually outperforms Rice are tackles, blocks, and successful kills. He paints an image of a player who excels at protecting the back four, disrupting play, and then getting out of sticky situations to keep the ball once he wins it.
With Rice sure to be striding forward and aiding the more attack-minded players in the XI, having a pure number six behind the England international in certain games would allow him to focus more on those attacking phases of play, and Lavia looks the perfect candidate.
