Jurgen Klopp gives Liverpool injury update ahead of Premier League game against Arsenal at Anfield

Jurgen Klopp has provided an injury update for Liverpool ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Arsenal at Anfield.

The Reds are running out of time to break into the top four and have little room for error in their remaining 10 games after a 0-0 draw at Chelsea earlier this week.

Luis Diaz continues his comeback after a long knee injury. The winger hasn’t played for Liverpool since his problem in the 3-2 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in October.

The Reds were wary of Diaz after he collapsed just before a comeback during a hot-weather training camp in December. Thiago Alcantara has not played for Liverpool since February with a persistent hip injury. However, the midfielder was seen training on Thursday and Klopp revealed Thiago could play.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Klopp said: “Luis and Thiago [train] very normally. The plan with Luis is that he will be 100% available for Leeds. There is no doubt that the Gunners have what it takes to claim their first victory at Liverpool in over a decade this weekend. Visitors can exploit vulnerable hosts in multiple ways.

However, I just have a bad conscience about this one. The Reds’ form at home remains impressive and Anfield fans will be ready for battle on Sunday as it will be Liverpool’s first home game in over a month. Visitors won’t crumble under a magnifying glass like they have in recent years, but I imagine there are arguments against it. Liverpool always have a knack for showing up when needed and I think they will do Man City a favor this weekend.
