Manchester United are having a rather messy season and there are certainly individuals who need to work harder.
United are currently 10th in the Premier League. Erik ten Hag’s team had the same number of wins and 4 losses without a draw.
Their European campaign was also shocking. Two matches and two losses in the Champions League. Things need to change and fast. This can be done with the participation of several players. So here are four players that Manchester United definitely need more of this season.
Casemiro
It’s strange to put our top scorer here, but anyone who has followed United this season knows Casemiro is not playing to his full potential.
The Brazilian has probably lost a meter or two of speed and is often caught off guard during matches. That said, we know he’s so good that he’s certainly capable of contributing more.
The 31-year-old was arguably United’s best player last season, we desperately need him to get back to where he was.
André Onana
The only new signing to make our list is Andre Onana.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper has lived a very hard life since his arrival. He has made quite a few very serious mistakes and will always be closely watched due to the departure of David de Gea.
But judging by his form at Inter, we know how good he can be. We would have liked to see a bit more of his passing ability. He seemed more competent than Dave in this area, but he didn’t disappoint us.
Alejandro Garnacho
This may sound a bit harsh but Alejandro Garnacho didn’t show us the immense talent we knew he had.
The only match we can think of where we saw miracles was Arsenal, with a goal disallowed. However, this was largely due to Ten Hag not including him in the starting lineup.
Garnacho is the future of United’s attack and we know from countless happy moments last season how much he can benefit the team.
He needs to show more when he gets the chance. This season he seems too cautious. Go out and excite the crowd, Alejandro.
Marcus Rashford
Our top scorer last season has not been himself at all this season.
Rashford looked completely flat. He struggled to get into good positions, he struggled to hit the target and he didn’t have a positive impact on matches.
He was electric last season. He scared almost every defender he faced. We don’t need more from Rashford, we DEMAND more – because we know he has a lot of ability.
