In preparation for a £72 million transfer, Rasmus Hojlund is “undergoing a Manchester United medical.”

Rasmus Hojlund will undergo his medical today before signing a £72 million contract with Manchester United.

The 20-year-old became Erik ten Hag’s primary summer striker target after learning Harry Kane was not interested in a move, following a great rookie season with Atalanta in which he scored nine goals.

Hojlund will sign a five-year contract after joining United for a cost of €75 million (£64 million) plus £10 million (£8 million) in add-ons. He follows Andre Onana (£47.2 million from Inter Milan) and Mason Mount (£60 million from Chelsea) as the club’s other summer additions.

Hojlund is expected to arrive at the team’s Carrington training facility on Tuesday to finish his physical, according to the Athletic. The complete purchase will probably be officially confirmed later on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Hojlund has six international goals and six caps for Denmark. He said his colleagues farewell over the weekend.
