First signed Liverpool ‘in the bag’ with Klopp ‘near’ in second as Reds look to make three early deals

Liverpool are looking to finalize their transfer deals earlier this summer as three players are approaching Anfield, according to reports.

The Reds have had a poor season with Jurgen Klopp’s side currently sixth in the Premier League, six points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur with one game to play.

Recent good results have seen them skyrocket, but Liverpool got back on their feet last weekend when they lost 1-0 to relegation-threatened Bournemouth.

Their midfield and defense have come under heavy criticism this season and recent reports indicate that Klopp will be looking to improve there in the summer.

The addition of Cody Gakpo in the January transfer window means Liverpool are likely to be without strikers this summer, despite Roberto Firmino announcing his intention to leave. And Spanish publication Nacional claims Klopp is looking for a ‘double heist’ under Real Madrid’s noses, with deals underway for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham and RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol.

They describe a deal for Bellingham – who has long been linked with Liverpool – as “in the bag” after the England international “has already decided to leave Germany next summer”.

Liverpool ‘also want to sign’ Real Madrid target Gvardiol and the Reds are said to be ‘one of the favourites’ for the Croatian centre-back and the Premier League side are ready to ‘fulfill another Florentino Pérez wish’.

Despite knocking Liverpool out of the Champions League 6-2 on aggregate this week, Nacional add that it could be Real Madrid who ‘could be the ones who could suffer sporting humiliation’ in the transfer market.

Liverpool are also close to completing the signing of Ryan Gravenberch from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Gravenberch struggled to make the expected impact after swapping Ajax for Bayern for around €23m during the summer transfer window. But the 20-year-old started just three of his 23 appearances in all competitions for the German side, with the midfielder scoring once and providing no assists in that span.

Liverpool are in “very advanced negotiations” over the signing of Gravenberch with Fichajes describing the deal for the Reds as “one of the first attempts for next season”.
The report adds that Klopp is “aware of the need to restructure his squad” ahead of the new season and that the Dutch international will “not be the only signing” at Anfield.
