Four positive reasons behind Manchester United’s 4-3 loss to Bayern Munich
Manchester United lost their third match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, but despite that, there is still reason for optimism.

On a night that saw much of the offense stall and the defense shaky alongside Andre Onana, a few bright sparks kept us optimistic.
Bayern Munich opened the scoring thanks to Leroy Sané thanks to André Onana’s big mistake, followed immediately by Serge Gnabry scoring another second.
After half-time, Rasmus Hojlund only hit back with a controversial penalty against United a few minutes later with Harry Kane converting.
Casemiro took us to task to blow the game away, but the latter was put beyond doubt by Mathys Tel. Casemiro then added a second goal but it was too little, too late, leading to a 4-3 defeat.
Here are four positives we took away from this game
Rasmus Hojlund scored his first goal
On a disappointing night not because of the result but because of the performance, Rasmus Hojlund opened his Manchester United account.
No doubt it is a huge relief for him, as it will silence his doubts and act as a huge confidence boost for the future.
The passion he showed after scoring was also extremely positive and made fans believe that a comeback was near. Hojlund’s strong start continued.
Sergio Reguilon proves his worth
Following Luke Shaw’s injury, there is great concern about how Manchester United will fill the remaining void.
But the arrival of Sergio Reguilon on the final day was completed to fill the void, a move that initially caused laughter and now looks like a coup.

Reguilon was United’s best player on the pitch and regularly beat Konrad Laimer to cross the ball into the box. If he continues like this, we won’t rule out a permanent move.
Anthony Martial is impressive
Anthony Martial replaced Hojlund in the 81st minute and appeared to turn back the clock with his excellent dribbling and link-up play. Martial assisted Casemiro’s opening goal and played a role in helping United gain an attacking foothold in the match.
As Martial is in form and has incredible shooting ability, it’s a shame we can’t rely on him, although if we could we would have had an excellent attacking duo.
The injuries gradually fading away
The most positive point is that we gave Bayern Munich a very good match even though 11 first team players were injured or missing for other reasons.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Kobbie Mainoo, Sofyan Amrabat, Mason Mount, Antony, Jadon Sancho are all missing.
With four of the names expected to return soon as they ramp up training, there are plenty of reasons to feel positive ahead of Saturday night’s game against Burnley.
