Hello and welcome to the ECHO’s dedicated Liverpool news and transfers blog on Monday, June 26.

After signing Alexis Mac Allister for an undisclosed fee, the Reds continue to target further additions this summer with central midfield still seen as the priority area. Ryan Gravenberch, Khephren Thuram, Manu Kone, Nicolo Barella and Gabri Veiga are mooted to be options for Jurgen Klopp and his recruitment team.

Reports from Spanish publication Nacional state Klopp will “demand” to sign Gravenberch for £21.3m following his one season with Bayern Munich in Germany. Elsewhere, it has been suggested Liverpool are plotting to offer £68m for Barella with current club Inter Milan “open” to sanctioning a transfer for the 26-year-old Italy international.

Chelsea ‘to wrap up Caicedo deal’
Chelsea reportedly plan to wrap up a deal for Moises Caicedo.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge recently, having been also been linked with a move to Liverpool.

But according to The Telegraph, Chelsea are likely to make a second offer for the Brighton star once they’ve recuperated more money from sales.

Williams expected to leave Liverpool on loan
Rhys Williams is expected to leave Liverpool on loan once again this summer.

The ECHO understands that a number of clubs are interested in the 22-year-old, but Aberdeen are currently leading the race for his signature.

Liverpool boast strong relations with the Scottish Premiership outfit, having been impressed with how easy they were to deal with last summer when negotiating the transfer of Calvin Ramsay to Anfield. Meanwhile, both clubs were pleased with the success of Leighton Clarkson’s loan move to the Dons last season.

Clarkson has since joined Aberdeen on a permanent basis, and Williams could now follow in his former team-mate’s footsteps to Pittodrie.

Liverpool reportedly turned down the chance to recruit Evan Ndicka prior to the centre-back’s recent move to AS Roma.

Previously at Eintracht Frankfurt, the Frenchman became a free agent this summer and has ended up in Serie A.

Liverpool were among the club being linked with Ndicka prior to this switch, though the ECHO made clear in March the 23-year-old was not a player being pursued.

Discussing the defender on the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano has stated the Reds were ‘offfered’ the player but ‘decided against’ a deal.

    Reds ‘closing in’ on Thuram
Liverpool are claimed to be ‘closing in’ on the signing of Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram.

This was the latest update provided by Football Insider on Sunday, with the Reds ‘pushing hard’ to strike an agreement for the Frenchman.

The above article adds Liverpool sources now ‘expect’ a deal to be completed for the 22-year-old.

    Firmino future
Roberto Firmino could be about to become the latest player to swap the Premier League for Saudi Arabia.

The departing Liverpool forward is claimed to be ‘in talks’ with Al-Ahli, with negotiations currently taking place.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who adds the Saudi club are currently preparing medical tests in case Firmino gives the go-ahead to join the club.

    Klopp ‘orders’ Gravenberch move
Jurgen Klopp has reportedly ‘ordered’ Liverpool to sanction a deal for Ryan Gravenberch.

The Bayern Munich midfielder continues to be linked with the Reds after a challenging first campaign at Bayern Munich, which saw the Dutchman’s first-team chances limited.

Klopp is looking to ‘take advantage’ of the player’s situation, according to El Nacional, after being ‘convinced’ Gravenberch will slot into the Reds’ system with ease.
